Until his untimely death in late 2015, Barton S. Sacher was President and a founding Director of the Firm, who managed the Litigation Group. His principal areas of practice were corporate and securities law, including litigation, investigations and white collar crime. In these areas, he represented public companies, broker/dealers, banks and other financial institutions, accounting firms, and law firms. He was recognized as one of the few outstanding Securities Law and Complex Case litigators in Florida, and nationally, by the South Florida Legal Guide, Florida Super Lawyers, Super Lawyers Corporate Counsel (national), and Super Lawyers U.S. Commerce (national).  He received the highest practice, experience, and ethics rating (AV) by Martindale-Hubble, and was listed in its Bar Register of Preeminent Lawyers in the U.S. for almost 20 years.

Mr. Sacher's expertise in securities law resulted from almost 40 years of practice handling significant federal and state court litigations, arbitrations, and enforcement proceedings in both private practice and government service. After receiving his J.D. in 1973, Mr. Sacher served as law clerk to the Honorable Sam C. Pointer, Jr., U.S. District Judge for the Northern District of Alabama. He was then Chief of Investigations and Enforcement for the SEC Southern Regional Office in Atlanta from 1979-1985, and he managed the SEC's most complex enforcement investigations and litigation in the Southeast. Mr. Sacher's experience with the SEC began in Washington, D.C. as an attorney and trial counsel in the Division of Enforcement. From 1977-1979, he worked on legislation (the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act and Right to Financial Privacy Act), directed enforcement programs involving banks and bank holding companies, and was also responsible for several significant SEC enforcement actions, which established nation-wide precedents. Mr. Sacher established an exceptional courtroom record in the numerous high profile, multi-million dollar litigations and trials he handled.
